The origin of the name Jeep: It is impossible to accurately verify the origin of the word Jeep. There are three interesting ways to say it: firstly, in the dictionary, the word Jeep means "escort small aircraft carrier", and secondly, the small off-road vehicle we are going to talk about here - the Jeep. But according to Mr. Harrington of the United States, as early as 1934, people referred to a type of drilling truck with special equipment as a "Jeep".
Statement 2: In the 1940s, when the first Jeep prototype was handed over to the military testing depot, the American soldiers in charge of the depot used to give each type of testing vehicle a nickname. The pronunciation of "Jeep" originated from the name of a quarter ton US military reconnaissance vehicle - GP, which means "General Purpose" in Chinese, so it was named Jeep according to the homophonic pronunciation of GP. It is also interesting that during World War II, Jeep was jokingly called by soldiers as the acronym of "Just Enough Essential Parts".
